We’re Olga and Peter, the heart behind Gentle Giant Ranch.

For years, we lived in the city—surrounded by the noise, the rush, and the pressures of a life that never slowed down. During that time, I battled cancer, and while I fought with everything I had, I began to realize that the chaos of city living was draining the life from me in ways I hadn’t fully understood before. My body was healing, but my soul was not.

Then, in the midst of the COVID lockdowns, something happened that shook us to the core: a neighbor, cleaning an unloaded gun, accidentally fired it. The bullet missed my head by just one inch. That moment was our sign. A loud, terrifying wake-up call that life is fragile—and far too short to be spent in a place that doesn’t bring you peace.

So we left. We escaped the city limits and found sanctuary in the quiet countryside, where we now live on 10 beautiful acres surrounded by open skies and the animals we love. This ranch became our place of healing, of purpose, and of unconditional love.

At Gentle Giant Ranch, we’ve embraced a holistic lifestyle that values sustainability, responsible land and animal care, and a deep, harmonious connection with nature. We raise registered Boer goats for a natural meat source and dairy goats who bless us with fresh milk every day—milk that our dogs adore and wait patiently for every morning. It’s a sweet routine: I begin my day walking our Bernese Mountain Dogs across the dew-covered pastures, then head to the barn to milk the goats. The dogs follow me with excited eyes, tails wagging, knowing their warm treat is coming. It’s the kind of morning that feels like medicine for the soul.

Our Bernese Mountain Dogs are the heartbeat of this ranch. They are gentle, loyal, affectionate, and majestic—true companions who remind us daily of the simple joys in life. We believe animals have a unique ability to ground us, to love us without condition, and to teach us what it means to live with presence and intention. In many ways, we connect more deeply with our animals than we do with most people—not out of preference, but because of the purity and honesty they offer.
